about
In 2021, I had the biggest year of my creative life (still quite small). I achieved goals set (released my first album) and exceeded expectations of myself. I also had the severest anxiety I've had in over 12 years and a blanket, stubborn depression. It’s a confusing result for working up the courage to share yourself honestly in song, to speak your personal language as articulately as you can, and be humbled by conditions you’ve worked hard to improve. Still, it’s no defeat to take a knee and let that be. This song captures a stream of contemplation that I find somewhat comforting, if not conclusive. It's a moving equation of balance and I am doing the maths. I'll keep doing them, too. The alternative of not participating at all is a place I've already been and I will not return there. I hope this makes sense but even then, this is me expressing myself so that I can understand myself, at the first. So, I keep going.
Thank you for reading this and thank you for listening to my music.
lyrics
Comparative games
In destructive swim lanes
Imperfect frames with a banner year in progress
Matching tattered
Winged action hazards
A bundle of edges I can’t seem to miss
The age is asking
How can I relax me
When all the time there’s something to consider
Comprehension time is slowing by the minute now
Toed the concrete
Never minding my feet
Is there anything to eat in the cupboard
Friendly passing
Buttermilk attracting
Patter to the kitchen all together now
The age is asking
How can I relax me
When all the time there’s something to consider
Comprehension time is slowing by the second now
